Me Nutrition

How we count

Every dish page shows calories, protein, fat and carbs, diet labels, allergens, a recipe and a short history. Here is where each part comes from — and where its limits are.

Calories and macros

The numbers come from the Me Nutrition dish database — the same data the app uses when you snap a meal. Each dish has calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates per 100 g for a typical recipe, and its main ingredients are listed on the page.

“Per serving” is the per-100 g value multiplied by a typical portion for that dish, shown next to it (for example 350 g of soup or 250 ml of a drink). Values are rounded.

Why your plate may differ

A dish is never cooked the same way twice: more oil, a richer sauce or a bigger portion change the result. Our numbers describe a typical version, not a specific restaurant or home recipe. In the app you can correct the portion — or say you ate only half — and the totals update.

Diet labels

Labels are not written by hand. They are worked out by fixed rules from the ingredients of the typical recipe, and every label shows the reason — the ingredients that decided it.

Allergens

We mark the 14 major food allergens recognised in the EU (gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soy, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin and molluscs) when they are part of the typical recipe.

Recipes vary and traces are not covered, so if you have an allergy always check with whoever cooked the dish.

Recipes, history and translations

Descriptions, recipes, tips and histories were drafted with the help of AI and checked against the database: the same ingredients, quantities that add up, and no health claims. Dates and origins are kept to what is widely documented.

Translations into other languages were also made with the help of AI from the English text. If something reads wrong in your language, tell us and we will fix it.

Not medical advice

The numbers are estimates for everyday food tracking. They are not medical or dietary advice — for medical diets, allergies or diabetes, follow your doctor or dietitian.
