☕ V60 Pour-Over Coffee
V60 coffee is filter coffee brewed by hand: hot water is poured slowly in circles over freshly ground coffee in a cone-shaped dripper with a paper filter. The method produces a clean, bright cup that highlights the beans' fruity or floral notes. It is drunk black, without milk or sugar.

What it is made of
Recipe
Ingredients
- 15 g freshly ground coffee (medium-fine)
- 250 ml water at 92–96 °C
- 1 paper filter
Method
- Place the filter in the dripper, rinse it with hot water and discard the water.
- Add the coffee, level it and pour about 30 ml of water to bloom; wait 30–40 seconds.
- Pour the rest of the water slowly in circles in two or three stages.
- Let it drain fully — about 2.5–3 minutes in total — and serve.
How to make it lighter
- Black coffee has almost no calories; the additions are what count.
- If you need sweetness, add it by the teaspoon and measure it — 1 tsp sugar ≈ 16 kcal.
- Try lighter roasts, whose natural fruitiness makes sugar less necessary.
History
The V60 is a cone-shaped dripper introduced in Japan in 2004, named for its 60-degree angle; it became a fixture of specialty coffee bars around the world in the 2010s.
