History
Avocado, called palta in Chile, is an everyday ingredient there, spread on bread at breakfast and tea time. Ave palta belongs to the tradition of simple Chilean sandwiches served in cafés and sandwich bars, alongside classics such as the Barros Luco. It is also a popular filling for party platters and for the afternoon snack known as onces.
